In researching old photos for my book, I came across this shot. It was taken for a fundraising calendar when I was on tour with a production of "South Pacific" with Robert Goulet in 1987-88. The men in the show were all shot in various states of undress. The photo quality is awful, but when I saw it, I thought, wow...that hair. And then I thought, I'm sure I really wanted to unzip and pull it out and flash it for the camera...but it wasn't that kind of calendar. Two years later, I did my first nude shoot with Tom Bianchi, but this was my first "model moment." So I guess, this pic is where it all began. And I just did a photo shoot for another fundraising calendar this past weekend. Always happy to raise money for a good cause by getting naked...or naked-ish.
